Measure M Construction Update 8-19-16

Measure M Construction Update:

Student Services Project:  Grading operations are continuing onsite.  Soil import has started today and will continue for 2 more days. This will include a series of dump trucks and a street sweeper traveling north of the Math Science and Student Center into the job site. Underground utility work is ongoing within the site. Additionally, starting next week a portion of the road north of the Student Center and west of Cosmetology will be widened to accommodate the high volume of construction traffic that will navigate that turn into the project.(see attached Widen of Main Street Corner) Please follow all caution signs and flagmen direction as this work is installed.

Criminal Justice Project:  Building plans went to DSA for review and approval on 5/19. We anticipate demo activities to commence sometime in October once we receive approvals from the State.

Math/Science Project:  Building plans went to DSA for review and approval on 5/17. We’ve received DSA approval for the demolition and underground utility work as soon as the Graphics move is complete. On Monday, 8/22, construction fencing will be installed around the old Auto Body compound, Graphics, old Child Care and a portion of the Nursing Quad. (see attached Site Logistics Plan) Please note that the parking lot sidewalk west of the project will be closed for the duration of the project. A temporary pedestrian walkway will be created in the parking lot to accommodate pedestrian traffic through this area. Hazardous material abatement will commence next week after all buildings have been cleared of College property. Please note that access into the construction zone is not permitted.

Security Project:  The Contractor has been onsite with vendors planning the schedule and clarifying access for the activities while long lead materials are being ordered.  This project will work around the campus activities and class schedules.  To be completed by the end of the year.
