9/18/15 Measure M Construction Update:

Public Safety/Community Education/Main Entry Project:  Masonry work is ongoing at the Building site.  Steel work will start up again on Monday.  Pedestrians and Drivers need to follow closure signs and be cautious as they travel around the construction site.  Planting at the Main Entry will start next week on Tuesday which means that the exit lanes at the Main Entrance will be closed from Tuesday to Friday.  The new asphalt is required to cure for prior to receiving the slurry coat and permanent striping which will include the staff parking stalls.  This work along with the City ramp/sidewalk work will occur in early October.  Please note that since the existing storm drains west and south of the new Public Safety building have been disconnected for construction reasons those areas flood whenever we have rain and need to be pumped out.  The new storm drains will be installed early October which will alleviate this temporary condition.  Please pay attention to closures due to flooding in rain conditions until then.

Campus Fiber Cabling/ New MDF Room Project:   Project is substantially complete.  Testing and minor cleanup ongoing.

Student Services Project:  Tree removal south of Cosmetology will take place today.  This is required to accommodate new underground mechanical piping for the new Student Services building.  The trenching and piping work will start in a couple of weeks which runs from the east side of the Student Center load center due east to the south east corner of Cosmetology.  Due to the large volume of utilities around the old Boyce Library this area is the only available space for the new utilities.  Pedestrians need to follow closure signs and flagmen when construction traffic begins around that area.

Thank you
