Please welcome our new Dean of Enrollment Services, Christina Ryan Rodriguez

Christina comes to us with a breadth of administrative and teaching experience from a variety of higher education and K-12 institutions, spanning 15+ years. Before coming to Golden West College, Christina was a project manager for the Adult Education Block Grant at North Orange County Community College District where she facilitated outreach and student success programs for Career Technical Education and Integrated-Basic Education Skills Training (I-BEST), a contextualized, co-instructional course model.

A Southern California native, Christina attended Los Alamitos High school and moved to the East Coast for 10 years living in New York City and Philadelphia.  She attended New York University for her bachelor’s degree studying Intercultural Communications and University of Pennsylvania for her master’s degree in Education and Organizational Dynamics. She is currently completing her doctorate in Higher Education at Claremont Graduate University. Through her Ph.D. program, she teaches incarcerated students as an Inside-Out instructor at the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) and serves as a graduate editorial assistant for the Journal of Higher Education.

In her free time, Christina enjoys listening to live music, paddle boarding, training for half-marathons and exploring her community of Long Beach. She is also an avid lover of travel; her most recent adventures were to Australia and New Zealand.

She is thrilled to be part of the GWC Family and is excited to lead the Enrollment Services team in innovative ways to enhance the enrollment process and reduce barriers for students to pursue their education goals at Golden West College.

You may reach her via e-mail at, by phone at 714-895-8128, or in person at the Students Services office, next to the Answer Center.
