GWC Welcomes New Public Safety Supervisor

On November 6, James Rudy will be joining the GWC family as the new Public Safety Supervisor. He will be responsible for Public Safety Operations during the weekend Swap Meet and will be working a 4/10 schedule, Friday – Monday. In addition to the Swap Meet, Jim will be charged with expanding the campus Emergency Preparedness and Response functions.

Jim is retiring this month from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department where he spent the past 32 years working a variety of assignments. He comes to us with a significant amount of experience and training in law enforcement, public safety, and emergency preparedness.  He has a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science and Conflict Management.  Jim’s experience includes serving in command positions in Field Operations, Training, Custody and Court Operations. He has also served as Chief of Police Services for the Orange County Transportation Authority and for the City of Laguna Woods. Jim Rudy will be a tremendous asset to the Public Safety department and to the campus.
